About Workforce Advantage Academy

The Workforce Advantage Academy, Inc. Charter School is an Orange County Public High School organization dedicated to motivating and challenging the high school student to achieve academic excellence, employment success and social responsibility by providing experiential learning opportunities.

Classes will be presented with a skills-based focus that will insist all academic subjects emphasize the application of those skills, as they will be needed in the workplace.

The Academy will not only provide the academic classes and coordinate all of the work activities for the students, but it will also have guaranteed placement for students after they graduate.

The Academy is a way for the high school student to gain the work exposure they desire while remaining in school to graduate.

The Academy will:

• be accredited by Orange County School Board for High School Diploma
• Offer core curriculum in English, mathematics, science, social studies, and life management skills
• Offer core curriculum skill improvement in reading, writing, spelling, and mathematics skills to facilitate student success in passing all sections of the FCAT
• Offer elective curriculum classes in humanities and business education
• Offer an extensive transition-to-work curriculum
• Develop a definite graduation plan for college enrollment, job placement, or a combination of the two.
